Description

Alright, here's my first drawing/writing submission for the Pokemon-of-Avalon group other than my app! This was a RP with :iconamy-the-jigglypuff: 's character Amy Apirana and my character Kaela Gardyner

Here's the story!(RP):

RP: Kaela Comes to Town!

"OHMYGOSH, OHMYGOSH, what am I going to do? Market Day is coming up all of a sudden, and I haven't been able to set up a thing!"

Amy the Jigglypuff was frantically pacing across the town, trying to figure out a way out of this predicament. Wait. Maybe she didn't actually have to set up a shop so soon; just...soon soon. Or maybe even never! After all, she already seemed to be getting a ton of money anyway! Right? Right?

She barely even noticed where she was going until she nearly crashed into a female Wartortle who suddenly seemed to appear out of nowhere. "WHOA!" She barely averted a collision in time.

Kaela wasn't always aware of her surroundings when she was walking by herself, at least not what's in front of her. When she heard a loud shout, it startled her, making her stumble and almost fall, not quite, but almost. When she regained her balance, thank you tail, she looked up to see a Jigglypuff.

"Oh hey, are you going somewhere? I'm looking for some place to start my farm and I just heard of this new town and ..." Kaela kept on rambling for a bit. Noticing that she was talking too much, she shut her mouth and covered it with her hand. "I’m talking too much aren't I? Sorry, I’ve got a bad habit of that when I get excited. I'm Kaela Gardyner by the way." She held out her hand toward the Jigglypuff.

"Oh, hey! Nice to meet you too!"

By this point, Amy was familiar enough with the gesture that she extended her hand out too. "Welcome to...! Well, whatever this kingdom is called, anyway. Since it doesn't have a name and all yet." She chuckled. "Anyway, my name's Amy Apirana, and I'm a tailor! And don't worry about talking too much, I kinda do that too, after all. So, um..." The Jigglypuff then blinked. "Wait. You're a new farmer?"

"It's a pleasure to meet you too," Kaela giggled. "Well, I'm not entirely a new farmer, per say. My family owns a farm, and I wanted to run my own farm by myself. So I asked my parents' permission, they said yes, and now I'm looking for the perfect location for that farm of mine. So I've had experience with farming before, but I guess you could say that I'm a new farmer for this town." Kaela shrugged. "So you mentioned this Market day thing or whatever…What is it?"

"Ah, um...yeah...you heard that, didn't you?" The Jigglypuff giggled nervously, silently chiding herself for saying things out loud for no reason again.

Then she straightened herself up. "Well. It came on really, suddenly; like, I think one of my friends donated enough for them to set up a marketplace, and—okay, let me start over. Apparently on Market Day, every one of us gets who lives here gets to sell stuff that has to do with what our job is. Like, Philosophers sell smart stuff, and warriors sell old weapons, blacksmiths fix weapons and armor, and farmers like you sell their crops...as for me, I was supposed to make accessories that people can buy if they want to, and I chose that job since that was what I was best at, but..."

She then held her hands to her head. "Well, we weren't really allowed to sell stuff when I got here two months ago, so then I stopped trying to make things, and now they're springing it on all of us, so I'm in a real bind!"

"Oh, well, that does sound like a ton of work," Kaela thought for a moment. "Would you like me to help you? I might not know much about tailoring, but I could give you ideas and get items that you need possibly? And I don't really have that much for Market Day, since I just moved out. I've only got my pouch of seeds, and that's it." Kaela patted the brown pouch that was resting on her leg.

"Ah, I'd like the help, but didn't you just move here? At the very least, I'd like to help find you a place to live, and then I'd feel better about you helping me. Plus, I'm sure I'd like to see some farming tips from someone experienced like you, as I'm actually a bit interested in it myself. Does that sound...okay to you?"

"Oh yeah, sure. I'd love to teach you about farming! My dad and mom taught me the basics of farming, like planting seeds, watering and such. My mom, she's a Blastoise, my little brother, and I water the plants and my dad, a Rampardos and brothers—6 of them are Cranidoses, and a Rampardos—all help plant the seeds. It's a lot of fun!"

Amy whistled. "Wow...you have even more siblings than me! All I have are three big sisters and a little brother..." She then muttered under her breath, "Wow, they've probably changed a lot since when I last saw them..." And then smiled again. "But anyway, that's really awesome! Now come on! The houses are this way."

Soon enough, they came across the complex of stone walled houses that Amy had been so familiar with at this point. Unlike the outsides of town, which were dilapidated, nearly all of these had functional walls, ceilings, and floors.

"Here it is! If you don't have a teepee like I do, or any sort of tent, for that matter, you can pick one of these empty ones to live in if you want."

"Awesome! This is a great starting point!" Kaela walked around in a circle to look at the houses. "I don't have a tent, so I'll just choose one of these empty houses. Thanks for walking with me! Now, after I pick a house do want me to help you make some stuff for Market Day?"

"Sure thing! In fact, I'll show you to my teepee after you pick out a house, and we can both think of ideas!"

"Alrighty!" Kaela picks one of the smaller houses, after all, it is just her. "So, where's your teepee?"

"Oh yeah. That's..." Amy pointed to some point over the vast hilltop beyond the houses. "It's all the way on the other side of that hill. Right this way!"

Kaela fist-pumped and then started skipping towards the teepee. "I'm really excited right now, I haven't been able to actually go to Market Day. I mean my mom has mentioned it, but she hasn't let me go before or sell stuff. I'm sure we'll come up with great ideas!

"Sweet, thanks!"

Soon enough, they came across Amy's teepee. Such a teepee by itself, in this setting, stuck out enough like a sore thumb in the midst of all the buildings of varying stages of repair and disrepair, but it wasn't just any ordinary teepee, no. As if it couldn't stand out enough, it was also painted with an elaborate design featuring the moon and stars on a night sky, with a grand river of a starry mass painted on both sides around the entrance flap. And on top of it all, the word, "SPAAAAAAAAAACE!" seemed to be painted around the entrance.

However, that word was partially covered over by a long, white sign in which the words, "YE OLDE TAILOR SHOPPE" was written in fancy, European-like letters. In addition to that, the words "YE OLDE" were crossed out, and "Amy Apirana's" were hastily scribbled in above the letters with what appeared to be from a black ink marker, complete with an arrow showing that it was supposed to go between "OLDE" and "TAILOR". If one were to read the title like it was intended to be read, it would be, "Amy Apirana's Tailor Shop". Clearly this was unlike any other tailor shop in town.

"Um, yeah..." Amy chuckled nervously. "I was pretty excited at first, as you can tell..."

Kaela looked at the teepee and rubbed her chin. "Huh, looks like someone likes to make inside jokes on their shop names too." She then whispered, "My dad always tries to name their shop, but the names he comes up with are always silly, so my mom always crosses them out and rewrites it. What do you have so far for the items?"

"Hmm...just these eight, mostly. But they're mostly stuff from my home tribe, and I don't know if anyone will really buy these..."

Amy showed the Wartortle two rows of four items each, with the first row consisting of a pair of feathers, a pair of moccasins, a dream catcher, and a poncho, while the second row had a headband, a tiny canister of face paint, a simple basket with no handles, and a blue patterned scarf decorated with the moon and stars.

"These are really cute!" Kaela browsed the items. "I really like the dream catcher and patterned scarf!"

"Oh wow, really?" Amy smiled, glad that the accessories were at least having some sort of success. "The patterned scarf's one of my favorite designs. And the dream catcher can actually help protect you from nightmares! Not that I've actually gotten the chance to test it out myself yet...but I'm sure it looks great as is, too!"

"I would like to get a dream catcher to put in my new house maybe, if I can afford it" Kaela picked up the dream catcher. "What would you like me to help you with?"

"Nothing much. Just maybe think of like, four more accessory ideas? You look like you're not very far from here, so maybe you have a better idea of what kind of accessories people who live here like. Other than that, I really gotta get more of these made for Market Day, just in case."

"Hmmm...." Kaela thought for a bit. "Maybe a wicker basket? or a sun hat for extremely sunny days?"

"You'll have to explain how a wicker basket is different from this basket I already have..." Amy wasn’t really sure about the term, anyway. "But a sun hat would work! Yeah, it would really help for people who have to be out in the sun all day. And man, is it getting HOT outside lately!"

"Yeah, definitely. I'm not sure if wicker basket is the right term but I guess I mean a basket with a handle?"

"Hahaha, right. Yeah, handles would be necessary for heavy stuff...I'll see what I can do."

"Great! Now... two more things...." Kaela stared at the items. "How about...gloves and...a neck tie?" She scratched her head, unsure of any other ideas at the moment.

"Gloves...? What are those? I know what a necktie is, though. Had to make one as well as a whole suit for this Blaziken guy named Graphite. REALLY hard job, but so worth it." Amy still couldn’t believe how she managed to create something like that, but at least the guy had reference pictures and such.

"Gloves are something you can cover your hands with, but I didn't..." As she thought of an idea, Kaela's eyes widened. "Wait instead of gloves, how about a patterned headband?"

"Doesn't this count?" Amy pointed to said headband. "Or are you talking about a different one?"

Kaela sighed. "Ah well, it doesn't matter, if I think of another thing I'll be sure to let you know."

Amy smiled. "It's okay. Even three new items should be quite enough for me! I mean, just think about how much of these I'm going to have to make if they get popular..." She then laughed, apparently, her nervousness from before completely gone. "But really, uh...Kaela? Thanks for helping."

Kaela smiled back. "Yeah, no problemo! I like helping others, especially if they've helped me. This was a real treat, and i hope to see you again! And maybe that'll be when I open up my farm. High five?" Kaela held up her hand in the air.

"Uh..." Amy tentatively held her hand up in the air, not entirely sure what this new gesture was about. "And what am I supposed to—?"

Kaela laughed and clapped her on the hand. "There. That's a high five. I really look forward to seeing you at my farm some time!"

"Yeah, I look forward to it too! See you later, Kaela!"

"Bye, Amy! Good luck with your YE OLDE shop!"

At this, Amy couldn't help but burst into laughter. "Yeah, um, Ye Olde...that'll work." As the Jigglypuff thought over the ideas she had, she started drawing them out…and realized that there was a way to make four extra accessories after all. She wondered how a bow would change the look of a plain sun hat…

Kaela laughed as she turned to head towards her new house to turn in for the night, waving at Amy as she left.

The End!
